Restoration

A great number of experienced and highly skilled stone masons are employed by Structures Group, allowing us to offer a range of specialist services to undertake stone restoration projects.

Stone restoration can be a cost-effective option to replacing stone when timescales and budgets need to be considered. Our stone masons use a variety of lime based products to undertake repairs, ensuring perished stone can be closely matched in terms of colour and finish, using only traditional methods.

Repair & Indents

Structures Group offer a variety of solutions for the repair of stone – the most common being stone indentations. This is where the specialist operative replaces crumbling/perished stonework with closely matched natural stone. Stainless steel pins are often used to help anchor the stone indent in place. Our specialist stone masons can carve the stone detailing to match is surroundings.

Each stone repair project needs to be individually evaluated as pollution, poor maintenance and poorly undertaken previous repairs can have a detrimental effect on existing stonework.

Stone Fixings

Structures Group’s stone masons are also highly skilled in stone fixing and can undertake a variety of cladding projects, including cladding fixing systems, standard restraints and supports. 

Our knowledge and experience allow us to determine the most suitable and cost-effective way of both supplying and fixing of natural stone from around the world.

Monuments & Memorials

Structures Group have undertaken cleaning and restorative works on both English Heritage and CADW sites. We also undertake cyclical maintenance works on local war memorials and monuments which are completed by our specialist masons. We often receive repeat custom due to our sympathetic approach and broad knowledge and experience of working on these types of projects.
