WJ Structures were awarded a contract by West Lancashire Borough Council to rebuild the historic wall that was badly damaged by a fallen tree in stormy conditions.

As the wall forms the curtilage of 2 Grade II listed buildings, it is of historic significance and the rebuild was required to be undertaken by a specialist masonry contractor.

The scope of work included taking on the role of principal contractor, establishing a site setup (including fencing, signage, welfare, power and water), taking down localised sections of the wall, cleaning existing bricks, and rebuilding the wall to match its original profile and construction including heritage lime mortar and stone copings.

We were delighted to receive the following feedback when the neighboring residents contacted us to share an extract of their email to the council: “We had to let you know the repair to the park wall was completed yesterday (Monday 16th October 2023) and how happy we are with the end result. W J Structures were excellent and Ryan who was the main onsite man. Clean, tidy and respectful of our property. They did everything that was promised, and having the replacement top coping stones coloured to match the original and remaining coping stones was very good”.
