Introduction
Structures Group is thrilled to announce the commencement of a significant project in Leigh town centre. In partnership with our development and investment division, Hengram Ltd, we are undertaking the restoration of a historic property that has fallen into disrepair.
A New Life for a Historic Landmark
This landmark building, once a bustling agricultural implements store, has stood vacant for many years. Our goal is to revitalize this property and repurpose it as a thriving hub for local enterprises. The renovation will breathe new life into the building and contribute to the overall regeneration of Leigh town centre.
A Glimpse into the Past
Dating back to 1798, this historic property boasts a rich history. A photograph from the 1960s offers a glimpse into its past as an agricultural implements store founded by John Sim in 1881. The building retains many original features, including a brick-floored cellar, plaster and lath features, and original joists.
Enhancing Our Local Community
As residents of Leigh, we are deeply committed to enhancing our local community. The regeneration of this property will not only improve the aesthetic appeal of the town but also attract investment and boost economic activity. Located at a key junction and on the edge of the retail district, this revitalised building will create a more welcoming environment for both residents and visitors.
A Brighter Future for Leigh
Leigh, like many Northern towns, has faced economic challenges in recent years. However, with the positive news of investment from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund and other private sources, we are optimistic about a brighter future for our town. This project represents a significant step forward in revitalising Leigh and creating a thriving community.
